Lunar Eclipse
A very interesting moon this evening with a lunar eclipse. Amy, Ethan and I had some fun on the front lawn getting some digital pics and a chill. I’m still not sure what digital zoom is for what with the poor quality of the resulting images when you use it. Next eclipse will evidently take place in 2007 – hopefully by then I’ll have a nice digital SLR with massive lense…
Tupperware
I stepped out from the office this afternoon to be confronted by a most offensive odour. I’m not sure whether a manure truck overturned or a sewer line ruptured but never the less the air was filled with a most unpleasant smell.
Getting on the bus didn’t help matters and the smell didn’t disapate for 10 blocks or so and even after that was noticable. It was quite humorous to see young asian girls and construction workers alike running around with hands over noses.
But really, what kind of stink can offend that great an area and if it stinks so much so far and wide, what must it be like at ground zero? One shudders to imagine.
Unfortunately for me, just before I had left work, I had spent some time cleaning out old lunch containers from the fridge and had about five of these things in my bag to bring home. Took about 10 minutes of me sniffing my bag and part of the bus ride of me noticing people on the street before I realised it wasn’t me and my old lunch containers that was stinking.
Hidden Treasure
I mixed up a batch of my delicious signature spagetti on Saturday, which besides my signature chili, is pretty much the only thing I can cook. Turned out adequate, but not amazing this time.
What was pretty amazing was when I went fishing for one of the ingredients in the back of the fridge I found a Granville Island Pale Ale that had somehow missed being consumed over the hot summer. After what I would call a great day; a nice sunny Saturday afternoon hanging out with my son and being somewhat productive, finding this beer was the topper! It’s almost better than finding a forgotten $20 in my pocket (not really though, now that I think of it, because I could buy more than one beer with a forgotten $20) Anyway, that particular bevy is a luxury in this household and finding one was quite a treat!
