Join the fight!
I am so happy to see that people are rising up and organizing. I’m also happy that there is global awareness of the issue and that regardless of what this stuff tries to pass itself off as that we remain vigilant in our fight against it…
Are you visiting IHateCilantro.com from outside the United States? Was it coriander you used to make voodoo dolls of and chop finely before pureeing? For you, IHC is now accessible through IHateCoriander.com.
But what about Chinese Parsely? I see no mention of it! I felt I had to email them the following:
What about Chinese Parsley? I see no mention of it here! I’ve been subjected to the vile stuff on many occasions; most notably Chinese weddings and baby showers, where generally a wonderful many course dinner becomes a mine field of Cilantro. One bite you’re enjoying tasty piece of fish and the next you’re making embarrassing spitting noises and grasping at your pursed lips with your fingers to get the horrid little bits out…but usually it’s to no avail…By then it’s too late.
Please warn the people about Chinese Parsley!!
DAM workflow
I’ve spent a good part of the day wrestling with my Digital Asset Management workflow. Specifically my images and how they get from my camera, are organized, rated, renamed, modified, backed up, etc. It’s been a bit of a painful process both because of the time involved (The reason I’ve avoided tackling it for some time) and because I’ve found some of my backed up DVD’s which I’d checked and thought were OK turned out to have good deals of corrupt data on them…Meaning I’ve lost many images.
I’m going to push through though, get this stuff organized and taken care of, and get a new hard drive for a redundant backup of all my images and important stuff. Meanwhile a small program I found called CDCheck will hopefully recover some of my lost images.
Hello John…
“Hello John, I hope this is your email”…Oh yes, you hope this is John with your fabulous inside information on an amazing stock tip. Are there really people who go for this stuff? I would hope not…but considering the number of folks who pass me emails that Microsoft’ll mail me a check if I just pass it along to ten more people, or the ‘religious’ version; I gots me blessings on the way if I fire up Outlook and fire off 10 more emails…I guess there probably has been one or two.
Testament to the colour of my thumb…
Pretty much every one of my major trees has an issue right now. My collected fir tree has a pest, all my junipers have i presume pests of the same sort, my big maple is languishing as it recovers from the aphids earlier this year and my subsequent over ambitious application of insecticidal soap. My favorite ficus has a root issue and I gave it an emergency re-pot today but I can tell by its trunk that its touch and go and I may have already lost it despite it not looking ‘too’ bad.
I suspect this will be the ‘black winter’ of 06 when I’m forced to give up my bonsai hobby for lack of trees…
I’m losing it
Last weekend I went a little crazy and threw a Swiffer CarpetFlick and Swiffer Wet Jet with refills into our Walmart shopping cart. The sudden urge to get our floors sparkling clean combined with some clever marketing on Swifter’s part led to this not insignificant purchase.
Getting them home I ripped into the CarpetFlik and put it to use on what should be a perfect job for it. A dark blue carpet throw that shows every spec of dust that clings to it. Unfortunately this thing works no better than those old dull colored push things that my grandma used to use…if not worse. So back into the box it went with the plan to return both items next weekend. (Didn’t even open the WetJet – got smart and checked the net for the not always useful reviews)
Well I can’t find the blasted receipt now. This combined with losing my bus pass earlier this week has made me more than a little perturbed. My week would have been so much the better but for the amount of time and stress looking for these two little pieces of paper. Hmmm, how can I reduce the frequency of these events? Time for a little lifehacking.
. Anyone want some Swiffer products?
Anyway I’m quite excited (after reading the Swifter reviews) about steam cleaning. I’m all over the Bissell Steam Mop or something like that. Clean with regular tap water, sterilizes (which is certainly a bonus with rug rats), and no refills to buy. I notice that many of Bissells products have the word ‘Power’ or ‘Turbo’ in their name. In fact when you do a product search with the keyword ‘power’ you basically get their whole catalogue…Steam cleaners and power washers are the kind of domestic cleaning aids a guy can really get into.
