Penguins and Princeton
We headed to moms for a little relaxation in the Okanagan taking the ‘Northern route’ to Hope on Loughheed. I’d never gone that route before and it’s a beautiful alternative to Hwy 1. Also too the opportunity to see Harisson Hot Springs which was another place I’d never been. They had a sand-castle contest going on but wanted 6 bucks a pop to see them so we just looked over the 5 foot fence surrounding the event leaving a generous foot for me to peer over and grab photos. I might feel cheap and guilty had I not actually been able to see what was beyond the fence…not that they were un-inpressive…just not worth $12 dollars for 10min of looking at sand sculptures.
Now in a year in the city I may see 4 or 5 Lamborghini’s; a Gallardo or a Murchialago, maybe a few Ferrari’s…but I’ve never ever seen a Ford GT40…ever Until today. In Princeton. parked outside the A&W.
…
It was surreal. It might as well have been a penguin or Keanue Reeves… The fabric of my universe came crashing down around me. What was an GT40 (exactly like this one) doing in Princeton?!! So many questions. I drove by with my heart racing. I daren’t pull over to take a picture both because I may look like one of those drooling idots who takes pictures of any fancy cars they see pestering the owner with questions and comments designed to make them look like they know something about owning a 200000.00 car, and because I thought it just best left a mystery why this car was in Princeton…some things are just not meant to be known.
Morning theology
Ooh! ooh! ooh! Classical theological works on mp3 for my morning commutes on the West Coast Express! Edwards, Owen, Calvin, Hodge, Augustine…what more could you want. Move over Maximo Park, Mew, Mogwai, and Mylo…make a little room for my less melodic friends.
Since last week I’ve been listening to the Chronicles of Narnia which I hadn’t read since I was a kid. Sure fun to go through them again and looking forward to the next Chronicles flick coming out next year.
